FAQs
1 / What if I'm not in my 30s?
I work with 30-somethings because I'm interested in the types of mindset shifts and significant decisions that tend to fall within this decade. But I also understand certain problems don't magically start or stop at a particular age either. If you're close to 30 (20s to 40s) and my messaging resonates, let's talk.
2 / What do you mean by "create the next chapter"?
The next thing you want to accomplish in your life; we'll focus on a specific area (career, relationships, family, etc.) throughout our sessions, but don't be surprised if you start to notice changes in other areas of your life too!
3 / What are some examples of what you could support me with?
You can bring in anything you want to change or improve in your life. Here are some examples: deciding to leave your job, starting a new career path or business, going back to work after having kids, managing evolving friendships, to leave or stay in a relationship, deciding to have kids (or not), whether or not to pursue fertility options, how to deal with aging parents, moving decisions, and many more.
4 / What if I know I want something to change, but I'm not sure exactly what?
You're in the right place! We can spend the first session(s) prioritizing and honing in on what is most important and what would make the biggest impact in your life.
5 / How do I know if this is right for me?
If you're ready to make a big change, but are feeling stuck on how to move forward.
If you know you're meant for more, but are holding on to a past identity or way of doing things.
If you're wanting a new adventure, but are worried about leaving your comfort zone.
If you're ready to put your limiting beliefs aside and start working towards what you want.
6 / What is coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential."
Coaching is:
-
Client-led: you are the source of wisdom in your own life
-
Utilizing inner resources to get to your desired future (from point A to point B)
-
Identifying and removing blocks that are getting in your way
-
Action-oriented and accountability-based
Coaching isn't:
-
Coach-led, e.g.,
-
Consulting: "this is how you should do it"
-
Mentorship/Role Model: "this is how I did it"
-
-
Therapy: identifying and understanding past pain and emotions, and employing mechanisms to improve mental well-being
-
Friendship: as your coach, I may sometimes challenge your thought and behavior patterns to enable new ways of approaching a situation
